ironic considering that less than a minute ago she wanted to be anyplace but
here! Funny how fast things could change.

She
struggled between needing to take a breath and never letting Zach’s lips leave
hers again. As if reading her mind, he began to trail kisses along her cheek
and her jaw. He nipped at her earlobe and then stopped to simply inhale her.

“Do you have any idea how long I’ve wanted to do this?” he growled lowly against her
ear.

“Hopefullyas long as I’ve wanted you to,” she openly admitted as she rubbed herself
against him.

He
chuckled softly. “The first time you walked through my door, I wanted to touch
you. Kiss you.” His tongue lightly traveled down the side of her neck to her
collarbone. “Make love to you.”

Gabriella trembled at his words. How was it possible she didn’t notice that? How had he
kept it a secret for so long? And why? It was on the tip of her tongue to ask
him, but he raised his head and gave her a very sexy grin before reclaiming her
lips. There was no shock this time, just anticipation. Zach’s admission had
pretty much done it all for her, she was putty in his hands.

She wanted to move, to get to a place where her back wasn’t pressed against a wall.
But again, she didn’t want to stop what Zach was doing long enough to even say
anything. Her nails raked his scalp and she felt the growl vibrate through him.

Neil Gaiman has been on my "to-read" list for a long time and I was so excited to have the opportunity to read his work.  First, I have to say that his writing is very engaging and his stories flow.  I also really liked that Gaiman's collection has a little bit of everything. He combines horror, fantasy, and humor.  I personally don't like horror and it scares me, I know I'm a big scary cat, but its true.  Aside from the horror stories, which were good,even though they scared me, I found his other short stories to be very engaging and I appreciated the fantasies that he was able to create. 

Overall, I think you can't go wrong with this collection because fans will love his diverse collection and new readers of Gaiman, like me, will receive a great introduction to his talent and his varied style of story telling.  Aside from the horror - I guess these would be my trigger warnings- I found all the stories and pieces to be entertaining and enjoyable.

 (My apologies for posting late! I felt like  Daniel and Sarah! Fighting against an "enemy" but unable to post on time;)

Nonetheless, this was a FANTASTIC addition to the "Sarah Weston Chronicles."  When I read the first book in the series "The Tenth Saint" I was so engrossed in the story and in the heroine-Sarah. Although I did not read the second book "The Riddle of Solomon" I was still able to enjoy "The Oracle."  In true Niko fashion the story has adventure, mystery and non stop action.  I loved how she incorporated a real-life struggle of protecting artifacts from being destroyed.  Also, I'm a romantic at heart and I love the continued struggle between Sarah and Daniel.  The story flashes back  to the past and then to the present.  I thought that this really provided great insight to the history and gave more perspective on the struggle of Minona Empire.

"The Christmas Bridge" by Elyse Douglas was a very sweet read. This was my first time reading Elyse Douglas and  I found it to be a perfect introduction to the winter / holiday season.  The heroine is in her late 30's, I calculated about 38.  She is a widow and starting her life a new since the shocking death of her husband.  Olivia was a sweet character.  My heart went out for her.  She was struggling with finding herself and  dealt with the guilt of moving on with her life.  Brett was an equally interesting hero.  It was sweet and heartwarming to watch .  I'm a big romance fan so this was easy for me to like.  I especially enjoyed a few  of the surprises that the author  included.

This was a really sweet story.  I read it with my five year old daughter and she enjoyed this book and the illustrations.  I loved the superhower theme and the role that Pinkie played.  Fun and with a great message to young people

About the Author

Kim Boykin was raised in her South Carolina home with two girly sisters and great parents. She had a happy, boring childhood, which sucks if you’re a writer because you have to create your own crazy. PLUS after you’re published and you’re being interviewed, it’s very appealing when the author actually lived in Crazy Town or somewhere in the general vicinity.

Almost everything she learned about writing, she learned from her grandpa, an oral storyteller, who was a master teacher of pacing and sensory detail. He held court under an old mimosa tree on the family farm, and people used to come from all around to hear him tell stories about growing up in rural Georgia and share his unique take on the world.

As a stay-at-home mom, Kim started writing, grabbing snip-its of time in the car rider line or on the bleachers at swim practice. After her kids left the nest, she started submitting her work, sold her first novel at 53, and has been writing like crazy ever since.

Thanks to the lessons she learned under that mimosa tree, her books are well reviewed and, according to RT Book Reviews, feel like they’re being told across a kitchen table. "Peach of a Pair" by Kim Boykin hit all the right spots for me. Nettie was such a great heroine for me. I really enjoyed reading her journey. I also really loved the romance between her and Remmy. The Eldridge sisters were a fantastic addition to the this story. I found this story to be gripping and heartwarming.  I loved the pacing of the story and cared for the characters.  I highly recommend this story and really enjoyed it.

Beyond Repair by Kelly Lincoln

Two Stars

This was my first read by Kelly Lincoln. I was first interested in the story by the plot and I really liked the idea of a single mom trying to make a life for her and her daughter.

Brooke was a fun heroine. She has some signs of post dramatic stress disorder because of different things that happened in her life. She is 100% dedicated to her daughter Mia. Mia is her world and her number one priority. Brooke’s sister has lived next door to her for a very long time and when she moves out with her family to a bigger home, she feels a little bit of separation anxiety. Anxiety and worry play a big part in Brooke’s life. She is a fun and sweet character.

Chris is Brooke’s brother-in-laws friend. He is gorgeous and carries his own baggage. Although both Brooke’s sister and brother-in-law have wanted to set up Chris and Brooke the timing was never right. When Chris moves in they can’t help but form a friendship. When Mia and Chri’s nephew become friends Chris and Brooke also form a friendship.

Chris and Brooke have good chemistry and I was happy to see how they formed a friendship first and then a romance. Overall, I enjoyed this story and found it enjoyable. My one big gripe is how overly dramatic everything became. The first half of the story is really about Chris and Brooke getting to know each other and forming a romantic relationship and then all the skeletons jump out of the closet.

I thought that this was a bit much, I felt like literally everything happened to Brooke and even Chris for that matter. I personally would have enjoyed it more if this was a novella and the last half of the book was cut out. It seemed to overly done. Nonetheless I was happy for both Chris and Brooke as they battled their demons and found love.
